Rannveig Káradóttir graduated from the Reykjavík College of Music in 2008 under the guidance of Alina Dubik. The following year she studied with Kristján Jóhannsson in Italy. In 2014 she was awarded a Master of Performance with Distinction from the Royal College of Music, where her studies were supported by Valitor. Rannveig is a Britten Pears Young Artist and has participated in a Le Nozze di Figaro Workshop with Ann Murray, in a week-long Masterclass with Natalie Dessay, and has sung the role of Poppea in L’incoronazione di Poppea at the Aldeburgh Music Festival 2014 with Richard Egarr. In September 2014 Rannveig sang the role of Violetta in La traviata at the Rye Arts Festival with Euphonia Opera Company and the following year she sang Donna Anna in Don Giovanni. This year she returned as Violetta at the Drayton Arms Theatre in London with Euphonia. For the last year Rannveig has travelled to eight European cities with Be with me now, a show that premiered at the Aix-en-Provence Festival 2015 to celebrate the 5th anniversary of ENOA. Future engagements include the role of Cio-Cio-San in Madam Butterfly at Menter Rhosygilwen in West Wales and the role of Tatyana in Eugin Onegin at the Whitgift Theatre in South Croydon. At the moment Rannveig is working on an album of art song inspired by Icelandic nature, "Krot – Icelandic songs", with pianist Birna Hallgrímsdóttir. The album's release concert is in Iceland on the 4th of September, followed by a London launch on the 13th of September.
