Kristín Þóra Pétursdóttir

Kristín Þóra Pétursdóttir started her clarinet studies at an early age in a School band in Mosfellsbær. Later on her main teachers were Sigurður I. Snorrason at Reykjavik Music Academy and Einar Jóhannesson at Iceland University of the Arts, from where she reacently graduated with a B.Mus. degree. Alongside, she has also studied the bass clarinet with Rúnar Óskarsson.

Kristín has had both private lessons and masterclasses in Iceland and abroad, for example with Celeste Zéwald, Hermann Stefánsson, Luigi Magistrelli and Barnaby Robson, and she has performed with many different music groups and orchestras such as ISO youth orchestra, Sinfonia Nord, Reykjavík wind band and Caput chamber group.

Kristín currently works as a clarinet teacher but she also has a masters degree in Icelandic linguistics from the University of Iceland.
