Kristín Ýr Jónsdóttir

Kristín Ýr Jónsdóttir is born in Reykjavík in 1998. She graduated in the spring of 2021 with a bachelor’s degree from the The Royal Danish Academy of Music, and is pursuing her master’s degree at the same institution where her teacher is Alena Walentin. Kristín started her studies at the age of eight with Guido Baumer, and thereafter continued her studies at the Reykjavík College of Music with Áshildur Haraldsdóttir.

Kristín has performed as a soloist with the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra of Young People (Iceland), and has participated and obtained prizes at international competitions. She regularly assists in professional orchestras, both in Iceland and in Denmark, for example the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra, Danish Chamber Orchestra and The Royal Life Guards Music Band.
