Herdís Anna

Soprano Herdís Anna Jónasdóttir has built a diverse career spanning opera, art song, sacred music and contemporary music. She studied at the Iceland University of the Arts, the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin, and the Opera Studio of the Zürich Opera House. From 2013 to 2018, she was a member of the ensemble at the Saarland State Opera in Germany.

Herdís has performed with numerous orchestras and on opera stages both in Iceland and abroad, singing roles such as Violetta in La Traviata, Musetta in La Bohème, and Adina in L’elisir d’amore. In 2024, she performed all three roles in the world premiere of the opera Hundrað þúsund at the National Theatre of Iceland.

Herdís has received numerous accolades, including the Gríman Performing Arts Award in 2019 and the Icelandic Music Award for Singer of the Year in 2022.
