Helga Þóra

Helga Þóra Björgvinsdóttir, violinist, earned her Bachelor-degree in 2004 from Iceland University of the Arts, under the tutelage of Guðný Guðmundsdóttir and Auður Hafsteinsdóttir. In 2007 she earned her Diploma from the Universitat der Künste in Berlin, where she studied with Isabelle Faust and chamber music with the Artemis Quartet. She finished her Masters-degree in 2013 from the Royal Academy of Music in Brussels, where she studied with Kati Sebestyen. Helga Þóra has been a member of Iceland Symphony Orchestra from 2015 and is a member of Siggi String Quartet, Elektra Ensemble and Reykjavík Chamber Orchestra, as well as teaching at the Reykjavik College of Music.
