Eyrún Unnarsdóttir

Eyrún Unnarsdóttir is born in Akureyri and studied singing at The Music School of Akureyri, Demetz Academy of Singing and Arts, University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and The Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna. Her teachers were Sigríður Aðalsteinsdóttir, Hanna Dóra Sturludóttir, Leopold Spitzer and Uta Schwabe. Among the roles she performed while her studies were Oberto in Alcina and Elettra in Idomeneo. She performed the role of Agathe in a children's production of C.M.v. Webers Der Freischütz in Staatstheater Baden. She is a prizewinner of the International Singing Competition of Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg 2018 and performed the role of Fiordiligi in Cosí fan tutte as her prize. This fall Eyrún made her debut at the Icelandic Opera but she sang the role of the Countess in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro.
