Asbjørn Bruun

Born in 1993 as a native of Aarhus, Denmark, Asbjørn Ibsen Bruun studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music before transferring to Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität where he finished his studies in 2017 with highest honors. He is a familiar face in most Danish orchestras but most notably is a regular guest principal with Aarhus symfoniorkester, Danish Chamber Orchestra and Copenhagen Phil. 

During his studies in Austria, Asbjørn Ibsen Bruun won auditions for full time positions with Odense Symfoniorkester and Aalborg Symfoniorkester before he in 2018 won the job as Co-principal horn with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra. 

He has also engaged in extensive touring activities with, amongst others Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, Alma Mahler Kammerorchester, Danish Chamber Orchestra taking him to the leading festivals in Europe. 

Asbjørn is also an engaged horn teacher, having taught master classes in Malmö Musikhögskola and at the Royal Danish Academy of Music.
