Albert Hoex is a Dutch theater director. He graduated at the Utrecht School for Theatre and worked for many Dutch theater companies before he started his own theater companies. Here he developed as an adventurous director of all kinds of music theater, most times staged at special locations in town or nature. In 2017 he staged for the first time the Matteus Junior, an original contribution to the rich Dutch tradition of Bach's yearly Mattheüs Passion. The Matteus Junior is to be seen and listened to by a public of young and elder together, is a great success in the Netherlands and is now staged every year in several cities spread over the Netherlands. Reykjavik has the honour to be the first city abroad where the Matteus Junior will be staged.
