Zbigniew Dubik was born in Poland and studied at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk from 1978 to 1983. In 1982, he joined the Polish Philharmonic Orchestra and toured with the orchestra as concertmaster throughout the United States, the Soviet Union and several other European countries. He has recorded chamber music for Polish, French and German record labels.Zbigniew joined the Iceland Symphony Orchestra in 1988 and served for a time as its second concertmaster. From 1989 to 1993, he was concertmaster of the Icelandic Opera Orchestra. Since moving to Iceland, he has been an active participant in the country’s musical life. He is a member of the CAPUT Ensemble and performed with the Bernardel Quartet from 1994 to 1997. Zbigniew has taught at the New Music School in Reykjavík for over a decade.
